Report Spam Voicemails on iOS 26 with One Tap

The iOS 26 Phone app now has a helpful update. It lets users report spam voicemails quickly and easily. When you get a voicemail from an unknown number, just tap it. You will now see a new button called “Report Spam.”

You can tap this button and select one of two options:

  • Report and keep the voicemail
  • Report and delete the voicemail

Once reported, the voicemail is sent directly to Apple. This helps Apple understand which messages are spam. It also helps them improve their spam filters using real user data. However, reporting spam does not block the number. You still need to block it separately from your call settings.

This feature is similar to spam reporting in iMessages. But now, voicemail spam can also be flagged for review. It is a small update, but a very useful one for users.

More Spam Protection Tools in iOS 26

Along with voicemail reporting, iOS 26 has other spam control tools. The Messages app now includes two special folders:

  • Spam Folder
  • Unknown Senders Folder

Spam messages now go into the new Spam folder. Messages from people not in your contacts go to Unknown Senders. For example, OTPs or alerts are kept separate from spam texts.

If a message is in the wrong folder, you can fix it. Just open the message and tap “Report Spam.” This lets you help Apple improve the system.

These messages are silenced by default, so you won’t get disturbed. But you will see a small badge in the Messages app. You can also change notification settings anytime from your iPhone settings.

Apple has also added Call Screening in iOS 26. When you get a call from an unknown number, the iPhone will ask the caller to speak their name and reason. Then, you can decide whether to answer the call.

This helps avoid fake or spam calls. It is better than direct blocking because some important calls may come from unknown numbers. Call Screening gives you more control without losing important calls.

Future Updates and What to Expect

Currently, the spam voicemail report feature is available only to developers. Apple will release a public beta in July 2025. The final version of iOS 26 will launch with the iPhone 17 in September 2025.

Apple has not said what happens to flagged voicemails after reporting. But it is expected that they will help improve Apple’s machine learning filters.

There is no automatic voicemail blocking yet, but that could change. With enough spam reports, Apple might build better tools in the future. These updates show that Apple is now focused more on preventing spam before it reaches users.

You can now Report Spam Voicemails on iOS 26 Easily with one tap. The Messages app and Phone app both have new smart filters. Call screening is also a big help.

These changes show Apple’s new focus on making your phone safer from unwanted messages and calls.
