WhatsApp Restored After Global Outage on Monday. The popular messaging app faced trouble for more than one hour. Users in India and worldwide reported major problems with the app.

Some users faced errors while linking new devices. Others reported server and website problems during the downtime. Still, the company has not confirmed the exact reason.

WhatsApp Services Comes Back on Track After Outage Issues

Many users began facing issues around 1:10 PM. Reports quickly increased, showing problems with server connections. Downdetector listed 290 reports by 1:55 PM.

About 54 percent had server issues during that period. Around 24 percent faced issues while accessing the website. Another 22 percent complained about problems with the mobile app.

Between 1 PM and 2:15 PM, more than 430 users reported problems. Reports began to drop after 2 PM, showing improvement.

Users trying to link new devices saw error messages. The message read, “Can’t link new devices at this time.” People also posted complaints on X during the outage. Many asked others if they were facing similar issues.

Outage History

This is not the first time WhatsApp went down. In July, WhatsApp also suffered a global outage. During that time, people were unable to send messages.

Both the mobile app and WhatsApp Web were affected. Thousands of users reported problems across different countries.

Experts say outages happen mainly due to server downtime. Sometimes DNS disruptions cause large-scale problems with online services. Border Gateway Protocol glitches can also bring services offline suddenly.

Router configuration errors often create similar issues worldwide. Outages may also be caused by DDoS attacks. Currently, Meta has not shared a technical explanation.

Security Fix

Apart from outages, WhatsApp recently fixed serious security flaws. The company patched a zero-click vulnerability last week. This flaw targeted iOS and macOS devices directly. Hackers could use it to launch targeted attacks. Users with iPhones or Macs were asked to update quickly.

Meta explained that the flaw worked with iOS bugs. This gave hackers access to sensitive device information. WhatsApp released patches to close these dangerous vulnerabilities. The company advised users to always keep apps updated. With new security updates, WhatsApp continues improving user safety.

WhatsApp Restored After Global Outage, but the downtime created serious issues for users worldwide.

Meta has not yet explained the exact outage cause. Users are advised to update apps and stay prepared for possible future disruptions.
