Microsoft Introduced Xbox Cloud Gaming in India Through Game Pass

Microsoft officially launched its Xbox Cloud Gaming service in India after months of anticipation. The platform was previously available only in beta form across select countries.

Now, Indian gamers can access it through the Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium, and Ultimate plans. It is also available via PC Game Pass for Windows users.

With this feature, players no longer need an Xbox console. They can simply stream and play games directly from the cloud. Supported devices include PCs, Macs, smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, and Amazon Fire TV.

Gamers only need a stable internet connection with speeds over 20 Mbps and a supported controller to start playing.

Compatible controllers include Xbox Wireless and Sony’s DualSense models. Some selected games even support touchscreen, keyboard, or mouse controls.

This makes cloud gaming more flexible for every kind of player. Microsoft has ensured that hundreds of Xbox titles in the Game Pass library are cloud-playable right from day one.

Plans, Prices, and Supported Devices in India

Xbox Cloud Gaming is included in every Game Pass plan, giving subscribers great value. The Essential plan starts at ₹499 per month and includes over 50 games. It also offers online multiplayer and unlimited cloud streaming access.

The Premium plan is priced at ₹699 monthly and provides access to hundreds of games. The top-tier Ultimate plan costs ₹1,389 per month and includes all premium benefits along with day-one game launches.

PC users can choose the PC Game Pass at ₹939 per month. Microsoft recently replaced the old Core and Standard Game Pass plans with Essential and Premium tiers.

These new plans support cloud streaming for a wider selection of games. The change came shortly after a global Game Pass price revision, although existing subscribers in India are not affected.

Before the official launch, several Reddit users spotted the feature going live. Gamers in India confirmed they could stream games like Forza Horizon 5 and Cricket 24 at 1080p resolution and 60 FPS. Reports also showed very low latency, with ping rates between 25 and 30 ms on Apple TV.

Performance, Servers, and Extra Features

According to IGN India, Xbox Cloud Gaming works perfectly through the Xbox app, though it is not yet supported via web browsers. Microsoft has deployed two data servers in India, the Central India Area (CIA) and South India Area (SIA). These servers ensure smoother gameplay and faster response times for Indian players.

To enjoy cloud gaming, users must connect a compatible controller. Microsoft has also provided a full list of supported devices and accessories.

The “Stream Your Own Game” feature is available for Xbox Series S and X users, allowing them to play games they already own through the cloud.

With multiple subscription plans, strong cloud servers, and broad device support, Indian gamers can now stream and play anywhere. The service marks a major milestone in India’s growing cloud gaming revolution.
